A Rainy Encounter Stupid rain. Stupid bus, leaving too fast. Stupid everything. Carry glared up at the wet missiles the angry heavens were bombarding her with. Today was not a good day. She gave up glaring – who was watching, anyway? – and attempted to retreat even further into her hood as she trudged down the street. The useless, repetitive diatribe against anything and everything continued in her head as she crossed the street and turned around yet another corner on the long walk home from work.

Book on the Bedside Table You are the book that lives on my bedside table. My favorite one, the spine worn thin by all the times my fingers have traced those pages. That one, there, under the glasses. No, the other side of the phone. Yeah, that one.
Sometimes you get a little buried, but there's only so much room on that table. So maybe my watch gets laid across you, then the notes for that paper I need to write. ScatteredThere's a girl next door who I always see picking up leaves catching them as they fall and putting them carefully in her too-small pocket.
Then she'd get on the school bus and her little face would appear in the window, looking up into the tops of the trees.

Hey guys. I've been here a little while, but I haven't written any journals. I thought I might should put something up. For those of you who don't know me, here's a little intro into my world:
I'm a writer, poetry mostly, but I haven't been at it very long, and, anyway, we all have plenty to learn, so any advice is always welcome. This time of year my life consists mostly of schoolwork, marching band (I play flute), and dancing. I dance tango and contra as well as taking a class at school where we do a little of everything, with a focus on modern/lyrical.I love to read poetry and fiction, and am a bit of an addict for long, epic, fantasy series. I'm here to learn more about writing and hopefully see some great artwork along the way, lit or visual.
Anyway, enough about me. I hope to have some new work up soon, but I don't know when. I am rather busy right now. I think I'm going to take on the 31 Prompt Challenge, though, so that should be interesting. Here are the prompts:
